Debra Williams, Foundation Degree Education & Care Student

Debra began her learning journey in 2005 at the College by enrolling on a ‘Have a go at IT’ community course.

“After trying the first course I was determined to carry on learning and went on to successfully gain the CACHE Teaching Assistant Level 3 and Numeracy Level 2. I got a part-time Teaching Assistant job in 2009 and decided to study for a Foundation Degree at the College. Returning to learning has changed my life.”

“My entire experience was motivating, interesting and rewarding. Bishop Auckland College surpassed my expectations, in consideration of my need for an inclusive, supporting and motivating environment. I genuinely feel that the tutors have improved my thinking skills to such a level that I can strive to be more autonomous and confident in my current studies - likewise, in my employment.

Right now I am considering my academic future and have visited the University of Sunderland to discuss my enrolment on MSc Psychology. I am very excited by this prospect as I know it will allow me to explore all paradigms and concepts surrounding how people think and behave.
